It is difficult for me to see why we should use a shortcut method when the thing can be done directly and effectively with liberal use of water. I agree it is a different matter with our food where we may use knife and fork. One who is not a better skilled diner may after all eat less using the cutlery instead of one’s bare hands. But in the case of toilet paper, one has to depend on the quality of toilet paper (the wetness content) and the skill of the user and the scope for disposing such used up paper. To me use of toilet paper is equivalent to relying on green grass or dry grass as the case may be. At times when water facility is not available or feasible one may use toilet paper or any damn thing that is available within the reach of one’s hand as it makes no difference in the exigencies and emergencies. But the idea of TP is repulsive when water is available in plenty and I would say there is nothing wrong in using water in a hands on approach using if available health faucets.. When people do dirtier and wildest things in the modern day’s evolved sexual escapades, it is ironical and also outright silly if a person’s civilization is measured the way one wipes ones behind.
When as a child the toilet paper is used normally and when it grows evolution suggests use of water like in
