Whose dad is not greatest?

Talking of my children, who will not say his or her dad greatest?
Hardly any who will not.
Be that so, dad is a special image humans nurture all though ones life at every stage (especially difficult ones). Dad is one who is a guardian angel. When got stuck at school or college dad is godsend. He is the one who waits in queues eternally from rations shop (in earlier days) to hospitals, college admissions to the railways stations to airports.

Dad is one who saves the tender innocent souls from their angry mothers. Dad is the one who brings the desired suitors as well as ‘the most suited’. Dad talks with the in-laws.

But my dad was different. Had he been alive he would be in his nineties. He would be scolding me despite I am grown up and expecting my own grandchildren sooner. He would be cursing me for all the bad things happened in his life as if it were my fault.

Still the ole man’s values, faith, conviction, self worth, levelheaded ness, equanimity, prudence etc are no where seen in the people around and I still hate myself for not having even half such qualities in the desired proportions; I forget and forgive the frequent  thoughts he entertained that he was direct descendent of God. And so Happy Fathers Day to him in the Heaven where he absolutely belonged.

In a way I missed you, my dad; in case you are reading this blog. I owe everything to you btw.
